Those famous “sammy red-bottoms” have got to be the hottest must-have shoe that every woman has got to have in her closet.
Christian Louboutin is the French-born mastermind behind these beautiful high heel shoes with the shiny red lacquered soles that have become his signature trademark and our obsession. We’ve become so hooked on these well-crafted shoes that when we see a woman with a pair on, our eyes immediately scan down to check for that “red bottom” we’ve grown to love.
Louboutin’s can sell anywhere from $495 on up, with the crystal-encrusted pairs costing up to $6000; yes, such a very high-priced shoe offers us absolutely no comfortability, and yet we are willing to give up car notes just to get a pair. Why?
Honestly, I have invested in three pairs and yes, I got caught up in the craze, but honestly, they are the most uncomfortable pairs of shoes I own; two hours straight is the longest I can even stand in them. I mean, really, we women go through torture for the sake of fashion. Let me make myself clear: when I slide my foot down in that 4″ stiletto, my legs get longer and my stride gets sexier, but once that grand entrance has been made and two strolls around the venue, that sexy red bottom has worn out its welcome.
Which brings me to this question: What’s the big deal between the leather Louboutin vs. the leather Nine West besides the price tag? Is the investment really worth the pain? I say yes, and a lot of women will co-sign that, I’m sure, and why? Because we still love our “Red Bottoms.”
