These are all wise words that gets thrown at the courageous few taking the leap of faith. sounds good until we actually do it. Then we are met with different words …..
“Why are you doing that? Maybe you should try this ….. Do you think that’s wise?
Living in a world of constant ridicule where everyone knows what’s best for you, besides you is tough. Either you take advice not meant for you, OR you don’t take it and offend someone. Either way, somebody’s not going to be happy but why does that person have to be you? Rarely does it occur to some that others were given a dream or ambitions because they are just that, DREAMERS. What a dull world we would live in without them! Every time you operate outside of the norm, you will face conflict one way or another, that’s a promise. When you start to look different, act different, or be different, you will be talked about and conflict will follow you like your shadow. But are you going to try and appease the naysayers or will you walk into your purpose?
What’s to gain in breaking out?
Well obviously, freedom. Has anyone ever asked a bird what it feels like to fly? No? Well just imagine being locked up in a cage, and then finally it’s opened. At first sign of that door ajar, the small animal takes a chance and flees. You can try to catch it if you like, but you probably won’t be able to. Dr. Maya Angelou captured it best in the poem “Caged Bird”……
“The free bird thinks of another breeze”……..
“But the caged bird stands on the grave of dreams”……
Many let their dreams die. They let scared procrastinators talk them out of some brilliant ideas. Meanwhile, these same people are caged birds singing unknown melodies. While we may hear them, we don’t have to sing the same tunes. I would much rather be uncertain in my freedom, than only be able to dream, imagine and wonder of it.
Breaking out puts faith in action
Walking into the unknown demonstrates you believe in yourself and the one who brought you to this point. God will not bring you to something, if he had no intention of bringing you through it. Have faith with the little, and the unbelievable and impossible will come to fruition. It is not your job to figure out why things are happening. You are responsible however for what happens with what you are given. So what are you going to do? Sit in your comfortable box in fear or will you break free?
