Recently, I was blessed with the gift of the butter; Shea Butter to be exact – handmade Cotton Candy scented Shea Butter. My skin was moisturized, soft, and had a glow that I had never seen before. I was so impressed that I became interested in other benefits that Shea Moisture had to offer! Check them out below:
Moisturizes
The natural vitamins and fatty acids in Shea Butter were the elements that gave me my amazing glow and healed my dry skin. The vitamin A properties improves blemishes, wrinkles, eczema, and dermatitis.
Minimizes Inflammation
The anti-inflammatory element, lupeol cinnamate, found in Shea Butter can reduce sun burn and skin mutations. It can also be used as a skin protectant during the winter and summer months. Source (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20484832)
Skin Smoothing
I also found several sources that state, “shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying (http://wellnessmama.com/27324/shea-butter-benefits/).” This is why my skin was so soft to the touch…it literally felt like butter.
Although I could not find the “Cotton Candy” Shea Butter recipe that I have grown to love…I did find a Sugar Cookie Recipe that I cannot wait to try out.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
