Hello Beauties!! It’s that time of year again, Valentine’s Day! Although some of us do not participate in this “love occasion” some do so let’s talk about your V-Day look this year. I’m sure you have an outfit planned, if not check out the fashion section for some ideas. Let’s chat (well I’ll write and you’ll read) about V-Day hair and makeup.
High Pony or Bun
Ladies, pull those lovely locs out of your face this year. I know we all run to get those bundles and a lot of my natural sisters work hard to achieve the best twist out possible. I say this year we should change it up with a bun or a ponytail. Stop looking at my words like I am crazy and hear me out. A high bun or the classic ponytail are appropriate styles for any date. If needed, you can always add some hair to create the bun or ponytail right for you. Not only do these styles prevent you from constant hair checks, but also allows everyone to admire that beautiful face. (Also gives you a chance to show off your flawless contour.) You can dress up your do with a cute hair accessory or maybe a pretty flower.
Less Makeup is More
When we think of February 14th, we think of reds, pinks, and whites. This year, leave those colors for the decorations and the flowers. Keep It Simple Sweetie! Grab your black eyeliner, your favorite nude lip, your blackest mascara, (or your lashes) your foundation, and your contour kit. After applying your moisturizer and primers, apply your makeup the way you normally do. All I’m asking is that this year you leave out the bright colors. It’s okay to play it down with our makeup sometimes and avoid a lot of color. A more natural look enhances the beauty that you already possess. Another perk to less color, you leave less face around! When you keep it simple, it allows the focus to be on you and not just your physical beauty. No matter what your plans are this Valentine’s Day, I promise you will not go wrong with a classic simple look.
