With Valentine’s Day fastly approaching, ladies are our cute desirables in order. It has been a ongoing debate that women wear pretty underclothes to impress their man… Not true!

In researching this topic with both men and women of different social backgrounds, I found the unequivocal answer. The essence of wearing matching, soft and beautiful underclothes is that they are the first layer of confidence in a person’s day. At the start of your day, you may find yourself dragging to get yourself started, realizing that your morning preparation happens in layers. Your first layer is your underclothes; you choose them according to how you feel and oftentimes how they make you feel. You find yourself checking yourself out in the mirror dressed only in your underwear. Slowly you are building your confidence for the day, then you add your next layer, all the while constantly checking yourself out, thinking, How does my underwear look under this outfit? Is this bra giving me the bang I need this morning? Women find themselves plunging through their underwear drawers for the right fit or color to accentuate their outfit and body.

Men say that the color, style and the fit of their underwear make them feel more put together. They pride themselves on the glance a woman gives them when dressed in well-fitted underwear.

Even though it is found to be a turn-on romantically seeing your partner so well-put together down to their underclothes, it also speaks to a person’s confidence, self-esteem and commitment to self.

Tracy, Postal Carrier – Washington, DC, said you have to be on-point with your PPs (pretty panties) because you never know what the day will bring, good or bad, and you always need your first level of confidence.

Charles, Warehouse Worker – Kinston, NC, said that wearing nice-matching underwear and clean socks says that a man has taken time to accentuate a part of his physical presence.
